The Nasarawa Aquaculture Park project is an inland commercial aquaculture venture being facilitated by the Nasarawa State Government on a 150 hectare of land at Uke, in the Karu Local Government area, some 30 kilometres to Abuja, the Federal Capital city of Nigeria.
The concept of the Aquaculture Park, the first in Africa, is centred upon the development of a large number of individual commercial aquaculture farmsteads, of 3 different configurations (Small– 20 metric tons output p.a. Medium – 50 metric tons output p.a. and Large – 100 metric tons output p.a.), in production community blocks, centrally serviced with full infrastructure and services that are typically required for aquaculture.
